I first started taking barre, pilates, & yoga classes while attending college in New Orleans. I was looking for a positive outlet for stress relief and I instantly felt like I had found my place and belonged in this environment. There are so many reasons why I’m obsessed with barre, pilates, & yoga – the positivity, the physical challenge, the mind body connection, the community, and the feeling of letting go of any stress or worries in the music and the motion. If I could sum it all up into one word it would be Passion. Read more.

My favorite aspect about teaching is watching my students progress. My goal is to help you test your limits so you can build the strength, flexibly, and confidence to overcome them ... and of course we'll have fun doing it! I truly believe each and every one of you can achieve your goals. You're stronger than you know!

I received my Balanced Body Pilates Mat & Barre certification in April of 2013 and have been teaching ever since. I also hold my Balanced Body Pilates Reformer Level 1 certification, and in May 2017, I completed my 200 hour RYT (Yoga Alliance) Yoga teacher training as well. In December 2023, I completed my Functional Range Conditioning certification and am now a registered FRC Mobility Specialist. In addition to my certifications, I am a lifelong musician, (vocalist) and I also hold a Bachelors of Music from Loyola University New Orleans. Additionally, Michele and I created our own barre teacher training and have successfully trained and mentored over 20 new barre instructors.

My classes are accessible to all levels of fitness, from beginner to advanced. We’re doing exercises anyone can do. I’m highly educated in proper body alignment, anatomy, and how to safely modify any exercise in case of prior injury. I believe in functional, safe movement with lots of stretching to minimize the chance of injury, and of course a killer playlist.

I hope to see you in class!

As a classically trained dancer, former 76ers dance team member, and jazz dance instructor, I immediately fell in love with pilates, barre, and yoga. The attention to proper body alignment, stretching, and core strengthening was consistent with my traditional dance training.  As a dancer, I struggled with scoliosis my entire life, often feeling as if my chronic back pain would never resolve. The relief I felt through these practices was unparalleled and encouraged me to change my fitness routine. Read more. The transition from high impact exercise classes to the practice of yoga, pilates, and barre drastically transformed both my body and my mind.

Alyssa and I have trained many barre instructors to do what we love!

I strive to create a wide array of classes that are safe and effective, yet challenging, for all fitness levels. I understand that everyone has different fitness needs and goals and am confident in my ability to assess each person individually, offering variations and corrections when necessary. Aside from being a certified nurse, I am certified in IMX Pilates Reformer, Balanced Body Pilates Reformer, Balanced Body Pilates Mat, and Balanced Body Barre. I have also completed 200 hours of RYT (Yoga Alliance) teacher training.
